Flowers in January! One of the things I love about Virginia.
This weekend I finally took my photo field trip to practice shooting photos from interesting angles. It was a beautiful 56 degree day at the Norfolk Botanical Garden and many of the camelias were in bloom.
This is one of my favorite photos from this weekend. Not only was it taken at an interesting angle (from below), I was also experimenting with the macro setting on my camera. I also love the pop of color provided by the azalea and the structure of the branches. I like the photo below too: fun twisty grasses and a nice reflection in the background.
I forget what kind of palm tree this is. At first the structure of the leaves was what attracted me to this tree, but when I got closer I noticed these great yellow branches with blue berries on them. I definitely want one of these when I get my own home.
Sale at Joann Fabrics! I didn't actually save money. I got some Alexander Henry fabric with fruit on it, I think its going to be a skirt, some Heidi Grace green and brown graphic print for a tote bag, some red and blue flowers for a dress, and a brown shell print and the birdseed print I think will be a shirts, and some fun fish and ladybug fabrics that I don't have any plans for. My favorite though is the lilypad print, designed by Kaffe Fassett, not from joann's and not on sale.
