Cape Lookout National Seashore

  This weekend I finally got a day off! Its the first time, since we moved a month ago, that I wasn't working on something in the house, either unpacking, rearranging, or cleaning. I didn't even do dishes. It was great!

  We went out on a friends boat, to the Cape Lookout National Seashore, and went to the beach. It was an amazing, relaxing day. The water was so warm we just sat in it for hours swimming and drinking beer. In the picture it looks like the beach was pretty crowded, but the nearest boat was actually at least 100 feet away.

New Home!!

  For the last month I have mostly been preoccupied with moving from Virginia Beach to Morehead City, NC. We now live on 10 acres, with a pond and a fenced area for the dogs, just on the outskirts of a cute coastal town.
  The actual move was two weekends ago, and although I am not done unpacking, I'm starting to get into the rhythm of life here. The house is only 4 years old, so fortunately no major structural issues to worry about, but a seemingly endless list of little projects. Overall, I'm pretty excited. Its nice to be living in a smaller town again and I look forward to finally being able to grown more of my own food and decorate my own home.
